WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE

Today we interviewed 2 people that goes to "The New School" which is a college in Manhattan. We talked about global warming and what they see it to be. The answers were surprising in which some agreed that global warming is effecting everyone and some that doesn't believe it 100% but still thinks how they can help fix what everyone has ruined our home. After we went to second life with a old global kids student who showed us how to build together again solar panels on a barn, windmills, and a hydroelectric machine that uses water to make usable clean energy. After that Juan thought us how to build a apple with a steam although difficult at first we all got it done. This is because we are global kids and we don't quit easily.

wow this sucks

The 2nd life talk show was not really the greatest experience was kinda boring this is because the talk show had the guess lagging out no tone and a hook for us. This tells us what our talk show should not be like (tiring). Ours will be the best this is because we know what to do and what not to and we will plan ahead. We need to make our audience take charge and enjoy the show. This is our ultimate goal and probably change the world

hmm lightweight work

Today we worked at Fort Greene park where we raked leaves because of certain tress losing its leaves twice a year due to its self defense mechanism that fights against fungi and so. We manage to rake up monster piles of leaves which filled up to 5 bags just to get that pile over with. In total we manage to get 44 bags of raked up leaves which size was about 5-25 pounds. This shows that as global kids we also work hard to get help our community and take action. We are not just all talk we take action we help clam back the air and land to make it once again a cleaner environment.

I WON IN MY FIRST SECOND LIFE GAME. Second life is like my worst enemy. This is because i lag more then anything on this planet. Today in the scavenger hunt on sustainability i came in 1st after searching through land, air, and sea. We also went to highland park. This is where they turn a old train system into a green palace and life's pleasure  in the city.

STEP 1 GROUP DESIGEN

Today we we're paired in groups to finally start on our topic. I was paired up with Maria and Hugo. Then we done something called a "mind map" we had to put our topic in the middle and describe what it can cause and how it was affecting us. Our topic was global warming and how it relates to daily things. Also we watched a movie called "Incovient Truth" this movie talked about global warming and what they expect it to be 30-50 years from now. Many of us felt asleep this is because this documentry was sadly boreing but we did get the message of what its expected to be and the ice caps melted. This is something we need to do for ourselves and what we need to manage.

WINNER

Today we did a 2 minute elevator pitch in which we won and finished in1 min! But it was still fun because all though we finished 1st we still have learned different perspectives on climate change, climate justice, and global warming. We had the advantage in understanding what the topic was agreeing on the same ideas and not getting angry over the littlest things. To me there is nothing that I would do differently this is because everything went so perfect the time limit, explanation that we have done, and the fact we left our audience speechless and amazed. This was a very successful day besides second life I cant wait for tomorrow

6TH DAY

Lights, Camera, Global kids, today we went to the MNN studios and had a grand tour. We seen how they recorded show on a local public access channel. and the results was us global kids members dong a talk show. We choose many different topics but was in overall a good show. The camera crew was new workers that are kids just like us. They seem to be serious on there job like if they was on real TV. Today was a good day for me and everyone i hope to put the experience i learn and apply it to the lets talk sustainability project on second life.

FIINALLY IT LIVES

It finally worked the second life game in which we played stop lagging at least by 1000% to me. Thanks to this I finally got to learn everything i needed to learn about second life. This has been a Great experience from which we all went to the "Cornwall House" There we learned about grey water, black water, and recycling tires. I learned that black water is waste from our body that cannot be recycled for plants. as of grey water is used water from sinks, and fountains these can be reused for plants. Also we learned that the tires can be recycled for building homes. This creates less waste by reusing it instead of making bricks for it to be used. I've finally got to enjoy that annoying game but it was fun and i hope to play it tomorrow with no lag.

4th day

We have had two guess speakers today to show us about what they have done to help the world. One of them helped a women name Ursala who is trying to help her clan migrate from a island that is being flooded by water. This is hard because nobody wants to leave there land that they was born on and they have to build houses to live in not to mention that they have to bond with there new community. Next was our second presenter who talked about how he plan to see New York City in the next 20 yrs. He said that buses will have green roofs that will give them a cool roof absorb water and lower the green gases effect. Hopefully this may be done to help prevent the sea level from rising, stop the ice caps from melting and make this world healthy once again

3rd day

Today we learned about the movie "the Meatrix" I and II this showed a parody of how farmers were losing their land to big business companies and how the animals there we're abused. They were given growth hormones so that they can make more milk, they drunk dead cow blood which transfer old diseases from old cows to the cafes. Also we learned how plants were mistreated by being sprayed with pesticide. The way we can help prevent all of this is by buying farmer products and support them. Its our choice how we want this world to go. Either green or dead.

2nd day

My second day wasn't that bad beside for my second life account. We talked about the ecosystem and what we and others can do to help save it. For example we can do community projects to grow plants to help get rid of greenhouse gases. Also we watched a movie called "The Story About Stuff" this is the story about the things people destroy to make items that people would buy and throw it away to buy it again. This is how we can help save the world is by being part Buddhist and not desire new things that is one way to save the world and our territory we live in. This is our world and our life Lets take action.

day 1

My first day at "lets talk sustainability" was surprising because everyone started to finally see what it's like to be here with our staff. Our staff to me feels like family and not our owners. they make me want to come to work and not stay home in fear also the new website we have learned about that communicates to the world. I'm hoping that the days to come will stay like this. The fun, expirence and this job. This is one reason why i hope to get this program again next year so far.
